Carpenter Bee Brooch

The largest bee of Australia, the Carpenter Bee gets its name from carving nest burrows in stems and timber using its adept jaws. Ace pollinators, the females have a spectacular yellow waistcoat and glossy black abdomen. The males have a soft brownish fur.
